The Governors at St James are responsible for the conduct of the school and have to ensure that the education provided, and the way in which the children, staff and parents are treated, are in accordance with the law and with the various regulations laid down by the authorities.

There are a number of different Governors, Staff, Local Authority, Parent and Foundation. When a parent governor vacancy arises all parents are notified and given the opportunity to volunteer. Should more than one parent volunteer, then there will be an election.  You don’t need to have any special skills to be a governor, apart from the willingness to help the school.
