St Helens Council Adult and Community Learning service are pleased to offer free 6-week online courses (6 weeks @ 1 hour per week) for parents/carers of children in St Helens.   Evening courses will now be available after February half term.

 

The courses comprise of an introductory session about our short interactive online qualification in Internet safety for IT users, which learners can then go on to complete remotely, using online assessment and e-invigilation, so that there is no need to enter a classroom. The qualification covers the key areas of internet safety and details are in the course breakdown attached.   This one-hour introductory session will be followed by five one-hour remote Keeping Up with your Child English or Keeping Up with your Child maths sessions.  This is a total of 6 sessions over 6 weeks.

 

These courses are non-accredited and designed for parents/carers of Year 3 primary pupils.  Courses will cover aspects children will be studying at school and provide parents/carers with the tools to support their children with schoolwork in these subjects.  The courses will be taught by English and maths specialists and details are in the attached course outlines.

 

Evening course will start on Tuesday 23rd February for Keeping Up with your Child English (including internet safety) 6-7pm 

Evening course will start on Thursday 25th February for Keeping Up with your Child Maths (including internet safety) 6.30-7.30pm

 

If you are unable to attend the English and maths courses on the day/times scheduled, you can still do the internet safety course on its own at a time that suits you.
